The Liebster Award

Thank you to theoriginalmuse at (Twitter – ) for the nomination.

The rules:

  1. Acknowledge the blog that gave you the award – send them love!

  2. Answer 11 Questions that the blogger gives you

  3. Give 11 random facts about yourself

  4. Nominate 11 blogs and notify them that you dig them

  5. Give them 11 Questions to answer

The questions I was given:

  1. What is your favourite art piece? I make my own art and out of that I’d say the time I made scooby doo out of clay. When it comes to art other people have made, I’d say Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh.

  2. What surprising band do you listen to? Well, one genre of music that I listen to that people really wouldn’t expect from me is country music. I’m a huge fan of Shania Twain, Lady Antebellum & Old Dominion.

  3. What made you get into blogging? My mental health began to decline and as it did, I struggled with anger. I wanted an effective way to express my feelings and be myself without judgement.

  4. What is one thing people would be shocked to hear about you? Other than the fact I love country music? I’d say the fact that I am a lot more introverted than I may seem. I can come across as extroverted when I’m around people I feel comfortable around but I’m very introverted.

  5. What is your favorite television show? Hmm, that’s difficult. I have a few: Once Upon A Time, iZombie, Riverdale & A series of unfortunate events (Netflix Original.)

  6. Do you have any pets? No, but I want a dog. I adore pugs.

  7. What is your pet peave? The feeling of sandpaper, liars &

  8. What food is your weakness? Chocolate croissants from Lidl

  9. Who is your favorite author? I have two, Cassandra Clare & J.K Rowling.

  10. Mountains or Beach for vacation? Mountains

  11. How old are you? 22

11 random facts about me:

  1. Throughout my online presence, I’ve had other Twitter accounts. The account I had before the one I use currently has been deleted but I kept it open a lot longer than I wanted to due to the fact that Cheryl out of Girls Aloud followed me on that account.

  2. I have a passion for radio, used to have a radio show and I am actively pursuing it as a possible career option along with other ideas.

  3. I’ve been studying media for nearly 5 years but before that, I briefly studied child care and was adamant that I was going to be a nursery teacher. I could never imagine that now.

  4. I don’t trust easily, but once you gain my trust: if you break it, it’s damn near impossible to get it back.

  5. I’ve been hurt a lot but I wouldn’t change it, you learn from every experience but your failures the most.

  6. I’ve met 2/5 of Girls Aloud & in May will have met a third. I’m treating them like Pokemon, gotta collect them all 😉 (That last bit is a joke.)

  7. I love rollercoasters.

  8. I love horror films.

  9. My favourite actress is probably Cameron Diaz.

  10. I have lost count of the amount of times I’ve watched Harry Potter.

  11. I am a very big procrastinator.

The questions for the bloggers I nominate:

  1. Pineapple on pizza, yes or no?

  2. What is your favourite food?

  3. What is your favourite colour?

  4. Who is your favourite singer/band?

  5. What is your biggest hobby?

  6. Who is your favourite actor/actress?

  7. What is your favourite holiday destination?

  8. Emma Watson or Emma Roberts?

  9. Domino’s or Pizza Hut?

  10. Is there a news story you’ve seen in your lifetime which has touched you/changed you as a person?

  11. Mcdonald’s or KFC?

Tea For Two – Dirt by Emma Blackery

A new blog post, Wow I know this is becoming rare even though I tried (and failed) at blogging every week.

Today’s post is gonna be a reaction to a new BOP (yes I know that typical reactions are done in videos but I’m not wanting to start a YouTube channel for the one & only video. Or would it be?)

I’m not gonna lie, I failed at staying up until midnight for Dirt due to being ill. However, I woke up at about 3am and couldn’t go back to sleep until I’d listened at least once.

If you don’t know what Dirt is, it’s the sassy new single by Emma Blackery. It involves a lot of receipts, tea, and er….lemon biting?

I will say now: NEVER listen to a new song for the first time through the shitty speaker on your phone, it probably won’t sound great.

That being said, surprise surprise, I wasn’t impressed when I listened through my phone’s speakers at 3am but considering I could barely hear the audio, you can probably guess why.

When I woke up for the day, I listened to Dirt properly & WOAH LORD I love it and it has now been on repeat for the last hour but I have a feeling it’s been on longer and I’ve lost track of time.

Blackery headlined her first UK tour in 2016 and I’ve been proud to watch her grow and grow since then. You know, when someone peaks in their career & you just can’t imagine them getting any better?

Well Emma does, she just keeps getting better and better and honestly, I don’t know how that girl still has energy after everything she’s been putting into her music as of late.

I couldn’t pinpoint a favourite lyric from this BOP but let’s just say I’m in love with the whole chorus and the rest of the song. Can I just say that every lyric is my favourite? No? Okay? Is that cheating? Do I care? No.

Not only is the music video sassy as hell, the song has also stormed its way into the Itunes chart with it being at 21 the last time I checked.

There’s a lyric that goes “I’m going somewhere new, somewhere you’ve never been too” and Emma was damn right, straight to the charts.

On another note: When I really listen, really listen to the lyrics, the first thing I want to do more than anything is to private message this video to every single person that has ever screwed me over.

You can call me petty as hell, but at least I’m honest right? A very relatable bop well worth checking out. Blackery was already one to watch but you better keep watching!

My reaction? 10/1000 (that is a scale right?) I highly recommend buying/streaming Dirt NOW!

Take, Take, Take

I know I said I was going to try blog every week & that new blog posts would typically go live on Monday’s, yes I can confirm I’ve not stuck with another decision!

Want to know why I never make new years resolutions? This is why I can never seem to stick to them!

On another note: what goes to say that everything will suddenly change on one day of the year cause it’s a new year? Change is a working progress, it happens over time.

That brings me to the topic of today’s blog post. Today, I am reflecting on one of the many things I’ve learned in the last 2-3 years. Below is a statement I put on social media in the last few days:

The above is an accurate description of something I’ve experienced in the last 2-3 years which has finally made me realise the sad truth of life that you can do everything & anything for someone for them to still toss you aside when they have no use for you.

There are also people who I no longer even talk to who still use and take from me even though I cut them out my life. The sad reality is: even when you cut someone out your life, they can still find a way to take the trash you left in the past & use it in order to make life easier for themselves & use it to somehow help progress their lives/careers.

“The best thing I did was leaving you in the past” – an accurate phrase to sum up certain people. You can’t change people, but you can change yourself. The older I get, the better I get at leaving behind toxic people & those who purposely screw me over.

I am thankful to everyone that has helped me, however, I am ALSO thankful to everyone that has hurt me or screwed me over. I firmly believe that all life experiences have something you can learn from them.

Some people you have to go through hell with before you can see the sunshine, others teach you a lesson while stabbing you in the back.

I have become a stronger person through the people who have hurt me & have become much better at seeing through people’s bullshit.

However, I have also met some amazing individuals who have shown me nothing but love but have taught me life lessons & helped me grow. A shoutout to those amazing women on this international women’s day.

Even the positive & good experiences have something you can learn & use to improve yourself, you just need to know where to look.
